About Me
Professor Dr. Shimul Roy received his B.Sc. in Environmental Science and Resource Management from Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU), Bangladesh, in 2009. He completed his M.Sc. in Environmental Science at Linköping University, Sweden, in 2012. In 2021, he earned his PhD in Energy and Environment from the City University of Hong Kong (CityU).
Before joining CityU as a Postdoctoral Researcher, Dr. Roy worked as a Research Assistant at both the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and City University of Hong Kong. His data-driven research focuses on developing emission inventories for key sectors—including thermal power generation, road transportation, commercial shipping, and industrial activities. His work also involves conducting life-cycle assessments (LCA) of waste recycling technologies and evaluating how policy interventions influence carbon emissions reduction and environmental sustainability.
Professor Dr. Shimul Roy currently serves as the Principal Investigator of the Carbon Emission Inventory and Sustainability Research Group in the Department of Environmental Science and Resource Management at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Bangladesh.
Research Interest
Emission inventory, Life cycle assessment (LCA), Energy & Environment, Renewable energy, Sustainable development, Solid waste management.
